I grew up in Pakistan, a country which restricts women considerably. Extreme
pressure to conform left me with the choice of complete annihilation of my
individuality or leaving my birth country, friends and family. While I have
never regretted leaving, a sense of loss and sadness often permeates my writing.
I have previously published in monsoon, an online journal. The Spendthrift A poem and photo by Sophia Ali Blurred visions on the bus from Boulder A poem and photo by Sophia Ali Send an E-Postcard with a Sophia Ali photo and poem |
