Florification

air
dense with the
fragrant aroma
of flowers:
daffodils, roses,
irises, and the like
on shelves
and countertops-
empty vases,
pots;
water left standing
in jars-
the floor:
a littered
symphony of blossoms
strewn with
lush blooms
among which sits
a woman
weltering in
the efflorescence,
her hair
becomes vines
and her eyes
gone blind
with petals
