Jesse Walters
Jesse Walters, Artist/Printmaker, received her BFA from the Milwaukee
Institute of Art and Design in 1995. After graduating, she spent some time in
Ireland concentrating on landscape painting and drawing. While abroad, she
was greatly influenced by the countryside and the culture, which still
inspires her today. Upon her return, she continued working in relief and
began vigorously dedicating her time to volunteer work.
She has volunteered for many organizations in Wisconsin and Chicago,
including Around the Coyote, Artemesia Gallery, Chicago Artists’ Coalition,
Chicago Printmakers Collaborative, Chicago Women’s Art Caucus and
WomanMade Gallery, and maintains her passion for volunteering by staying
connected with Wisconsin and Illinois organizations. She has taught
continuing education classes at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and
has done volunteer work with youth art programs at the Milwaukee Art
Museum and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee.
Walters’ work examines the concepts of memories, human relationships and
experiences, and the exploration of faith.
