hd's thirsty too

sometimes it's not bad to take a walk
through the forest where the leaves keep dripping long
after and
you can't tell when the rain has stopped.
where sometimes
you can say a prayer and the trees weep back
with the tears
that for me don't come often enough.

and sometimes it doesn't hurt.
that briefest zen instant sometimes.
that first flicker of a smile
is what i want to capture.
the purity that makes you an angel.

and these are the words i need to say
but which can never fill my mouth as well
as another beer.
