another rented hall empty
when guest drifted away like melting fog
as lonely as they arrived
he'd seen this so often
the emptiness that bleeds
through demeanors of
feigned fulfillment
acquired non-success
he believed the cliché
and desperately held his breath
as he played the songs of solitude
his audience expected
